To help you prepare for a relaxed, safe, and enjoyable stay, we’ve compiled the most frequently asked questions along with useful travel tips. Kindly read through this page before arrival.

Where do I check in and who do I contact for assistance?

All queries, maintenance issues, and general assistance should be directed to reception at the Guest Farm (Old Farmhouse). Management is always happy to assist.

Is there cell phone reception?

There is no cell phone reception at the Villas or campsites. Guests who need to make calls can do so at the Guest Farm (Old Farmhouse), where reception is available.

Do I need to sign any documents on arrival?

Yes. All guests are required to complete a simple indemnity form upon arrival.

What time is check‑out?

Villas and campsites must be vacated by 10:00 - Late departures are only possible by prior arrangement with management.

What condition should the unit be left in?

Villas must be left in a reasonable state of cleanliness. Excessive cleaning required after departure will be charged at N$500 per unit.

Where do I leave the keys?

Please leave your keys inside the Villa upon departure or hand them in at reception.

How many guests are allowed per Villa?

2‑Bedroom Villa: Maximum 4 adults (12 years and older)
3‑Bedroom Villa: Maximum 6 adults (12 years and older)
Children under 12 must bring their own mattresses and bedding. Occupancy is strictly limited to the number of beds provided.

Are day visitors allowed?

No day visitors are allowed unless prior approval has been obtained from management.

What are the quiet hours?

Villas & campsites: Quiet time from 21:00 (Villas) / 22:00 (Camping) until sunrise Please be considerate of other guests and enjoy the natural silence of Namibgrens.

Where is smoking allowed?

Smoking is allowed at campsites
Smoking is allowed at designated BBQ areas outside the Villas

Where is smoking prohibited?

No smoking inside Villas, including bedrooms and living areas - Failure to comply may result in a 10% surcharge on your accommodation account.
Please be extremely cautious when smoking in vehicles, as Namibia is prone to veld fires, especially between April and January.

Are fires allowed?

Yes, but only in designated areas. Fires must be kept small and fully extinguished before leaving.

Can I collect firewood on the farm?

No. Collecting wood, dead trees, or vegetation is strictly prohibited. Guests must bring their own firewood or purchase it at the Guest Farm.

Why is fire control so important?

Namibgrens is located in a dry, sensitive environment where veld fires pose a serious risk. Your cooperation helps protect wildlife, vegetation, and fellow guests.

What is the speed limit?

The speed limit on all farm roads is 20 km/h.

Can I drive anywhere on the farm?

Please drive only on designated roads and routes
Off‑road driving is strictly prohibited
Farm maps and road conditions are available from management

Are motorcycles, quad bikes, or noisy vehicles allowed?

No. Motorcycles, quad bikes, and vehicles with noisy exhausts are not permitted, unless prior approval has been obtained from management.

What should I know about electricity use?

Please switch off lights whenever possible, especially at night and upon departure. In case of a power outage, report it to reception.

Are generators allowed at campsites?

Generators are not allowed, unless approved beforehand by management and only if they are silent generators.

Can I reuse wastewater?

Yes. Guests are encouraged to use wastewater to water surrounding plants where appropriate.

How often are towels and bedding changed?

Towels and bedding are changed every third night of your stay.

Can I use towels for cleaning?

No. Towels are strictly for personal use only and may not be used to clean shoes or vehicles.

What about Villa inventory?

Please complete the inventory form as soon as possible after arrival and report any missing items immediately. Missing items after departure will be charged, along with a non‑refundable recovery levy of N$150.

Are meals included?

No. All Villas are fully equipped self‑catering units.

Can I order meals?

Yes. Meals are available at the Guest Farm (Old Farmhouse) and can be delivered to Villas or campsites by arrangement. Please book meals in advance to allow sufficient preparation time.

Are pets allowed?

We understand that pets are part of the family and are happy to welcome well-behaved pets at our lodge and campsites.

As we are located in a wildlife-rich natural environment in Namibia, the following guidelines apply to ensure a pleasant stay for everyone.

  • Pets are welcome by prior arrangement - please let the farm manager know if you plan to bring your pets along.
  • Please let us know the number and size of your pets when booking so we can place you in the most suitable unit or campsite.
  • Pets must be under their owner’s control at all times.
  • In shared or public areas, pets should be on a leash or closely supervised.
  • Pets may not be left unattended for long periods, especially due to wildlife and farm activity.
  • Our property is home to free-roaming wildlife and birds.
  • Pets must not chase, harass, or harm animals.
  • Guests are kindly reminded that encounters with wildlife are possible.
  • The safety of pets remains the responsibility of their owners at all times.
  • Please ensure pets do not disturb other guests with excessive barking, especially early mornings and evenings.
  • If a pet becomes disruptive, we may ask owners to take reasonable steps to manage the situation.
  • Owners are expected to clean up after their pets around the lodge and campsite.
  • Pets should not sleep on beds or furniture unless you bring your own bedding.
  • Additional cleaning may be charged only if required.
  • Due to ticks, thorns, and wildlife, we recommend tick and flea prevention during your stay.
  • Namibgrens accepts no liability for pets injured, lost, or affected by wildlife or natural hazards.

By bringing a pet onto the property, guests acknowledge the risks associated with a wilderness setting and agree to act responsibly.

How secure are the Villas?

Please ensure your Villa is locked when unattended. Management cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or forgotten items. Do not leave valuables on patios.

Final Notes

The rules and regulations are in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests while protecting this unique natural environment. Persistent offenders may be asked to leave without a refund.
